Mellencamp or Mellowcamp???
The Tallest Man on Earth, albeit an older wiser one, is the answer.
His band is great and they feed off of John and vice versa, with the true quality of John pouring through the songs.
A great treat for any Mellencamp fan is the way he modernizes the classics like Jack and Diane with totally different beats and melody lines.
A few great stories and you have to love his embrace of being the Older Little Bastard.
Only issue was the 6 idiot teenage girls that knew 3 songs and stood in front of my wife and I talking, texting and Facebooking, and the 16 year old who held up a sign all night that said, "Pick Please!!!".
The casual fan who only wants to hear Jack and Diane or Smalltown is going to be disappointed because some hits were left out.
Even this major beating was not nearly enough to keep us from taking away great memories of a great night with one of my favorite songwriters.
